Should Super Bowls be held Outdoors in Cold Climates?

As many of you might already know, Super Bowl XLVIII is going to be played on Sunday and in potentially bad weather.

This might come as a strange surprise since this is the first Super Bowl since XLIV to be played outdoors; The catch though is that Miami is in a warm climate while New Jersey , yes New Jersey and not New York, is a much cold climate. I know, We’ve seen many “Snow Bowls” before and other pro games being played in the snow; but, Should the weather be the Puppetmaster in the biggest game in Professional Football? I think not.

Know, I’ll present my case for having Super Bowls be held in Domes or in Warm Climates.

Just imagine this, You are playing in the Super Bowl and you’ve prepare for it ever since you were a little kid. Now, BAMMMMM, Cold Weather begins to effect the flow of the game. Passes are missing their intended targets; The Extra Point you were going for is knocked off by some powerful wind; and, The stands are looking like a wasteland with almost every seat being emptied. This does not look really good to both players and the NFL itself.

If you’ve noticed, Ticket prices are dropping for the big game. So what you may ask, This is bad revenue for the NFL.

Like any other businesses or organizations, The NFL earns revenue from various ways and means along with sells of tickets like this.

Having a game like the Super Bowl being potentially blacked out is not good for the NFL. Why, It hurts the image of the brand.

Also, I’d like to point out the fact that having a Super Bowl in a cold climate would potential make players rather tank during the playoffs to go to Honolulu since they know that it’d be better to go to a warm place like Honolulu than a cold Hoth like place.

Now if the NFL decides to host Super Bowls only in warm climates and domes, This would keep the NFL make the same revenue it was making off of Super Bowl Ticket Sells. I know we can’t control the weather and snow during football is common; but, The NFL wants to make money and sell the name of their operations. They’d also would like to even the playing field by having an equilibrium environment that we’d see in a championship game.

With that, I rest my case.

I hope y’all enjoy both the game and the commercials on Sunday. ūüėČ

Pokèmon Bank back Online (in Asia) ; Western Release is incoming

As some of you may already now, Both Pok√®mon Bank and Pok√®mon Transporter have been re-added to the Nintendo eShop in Eastern Countries. This is good news to many after the service was taken off the eShop after the server overloaded back during the holiday season. Even Though the release of the services in the West is still unknown; it’s safe to assume that the services will be releasing within the next couple of days. In fact, The North American eShop usually updates with new software such this is on Thursdays. So who knows, We could be plausibly be able to transfer over some of our Favorite Pok√®mon from as early as the days of the Game Boy Advance as soon as tomorrow afternoon.

When the service is released in the West, A free month trial (until about late February/early March) and a Celebi will be given to those who get the service as an early adopter.

EDIT: Seems that the service will be launching on Tuesday. This is due to the fact Nintendo is going to be doing service maintenance on Monday.

Hope this means that we’ll be getting a Nintendo Direct also.

Majora’s Mask 3D is Basically Confirmed at this point

With the first original 3DS Zelda already out, Many are speculating that Link’s next adventure on the 3DS will be a remake of his second adventure on the N64.

Since the release of Ocarina of Time 3D was released back in 2011, Many fans took the route of campaigning for Majora’s Mask 3D by taking the flight of Operation Moonfall. Operation Moonfall has been running strong and showing Aonuma that there’s the fans out there that want to see the remake become a reality. Ever since then, Aonuma has been asked about the remake and simply saying that it is definitely possible.

As fans would remember, Aonuma originally said that a remake of Majora’s Mask will happen only after a original 3DS Zelda game has come out; Now with A Link Between Worlds is already out, Majora’s Mask 3D seems to now on the cards. Why does this seem like it is so? Well, Let me further explain why.

Before the launch of A Link Between Worlds, Aonuma was asked by IGN about Majora’s Mask. He reported to them to tell their readers that he laughed and said that the answer is in A Link Between Worlds. So when A Link Between Worlds was release, Aonuma’s answer was clear as water in the first few seconds of gameplay when you see Majora’s Mask itself in Link’s House. I know that most games have nods to other entries in the series (a la Fire Emblem, Pok√®mon, and Super Mario for example); but, It was confirmed in a recent interview that placing Majora’s Mask was a special request Aonuma’s Development team.

So why would they specifically request an Easter Egg such as that? That answer is because it’s Aonuma’s answer to wether or not Majora’s Mask is going to be remade.

Having the mask in the game was Aonuma’s way of saying, “Yes, Majora’s Mask 3D is going to happen after all.”

With this being nodded to, All we got to do now is to wait for Nintendo to confirm the game in an upcoming Nintendo Direct. I don’t know when one of the next ones is (because Nintendo is like a thief in the night about them); but, I wouldn’t doubt it we’ll see the announcement of the game in a not so distant future.

What College Football is going to prove during the New Playoff era.

With the BCS era coming to a close last night, College Football is now heading towards a new era. Starting this season, Teams won’t be competing for one of two tickets to the BCS National Championship Game but for a one of four ticket to the College Football Playoffs. Yes, I did say Playoffs.

When I first heard that they were dumping the BCS for a new Playoff system, I thought it was crazy. I mean, Having playoffs at the college era is just pretty stupid as off right now. Yeah, I know they have a Tournament in Basketball; but, Football is not Basketball.

Personally, I felt the BCS was perfectly fine since they based who was going to play in the Championship game by the strength of schedule and how many wins you have on the season. Yeah, I know the good argument that a Unbeaten team should have the right to play for a championship over a team with just a lost; but How does their schedules stack up to each other when you base it by the toughness of schedule over the season. I mean, I don’t think a team earns an undefeated season if they just play all small teams all season long. I think that a team that has earned the scars and fought tough battles against some really good competition should , in fact, have the right to play for the Championship.

I know that many were sick and tired of seeing the SEC win it all year after year; but, The SEC did have some battle ready teams. I know Auburn might not have proved it last night in the second half when they played Florida State; but let’s remember how lucky they got to get to the championship game after all with the juggle off the hands against Georgia and the infamous Failed Field Goal return for 6 against Alabama.

If it were some team like Alabama, I think the story could have been different. Though I do think that Saban should have just let the game go to Overtime against Auburn.

Now onto more about the College Football Playoffs.

If you recall correctly, The reason why we have them is because of complaints from Boise State fans that they deserved to be in the Championship Game those years in which they went undefeated. Know let me tell ya something, We ain’t going to just have those 4 teams alone.¬†Before we know it, You’ll be seeing the 4 teams extent to 8 teams then to 16 then to 32 and beyond. I know this might seem good and all, but let’s take a look at it from a players point of view.

Your typical College Football Season is going to be at least 12 games with a 13 game if you make to your Conference Champ/Bowl game with a shot at a possible 14th if you played the Conference Champ game and are heading to a Bowl game. With these new playoff system in mind, The maximum of games played in the season is going to expand to a maximum of 16 games. This maximum will continue to get bigger and bigger if you expand the field of 4 beyond. If it ends up anything like the current NCAA Tourney (which will probably be the case if Boise still doesn’t get in the Playoffs), Then that sends the maximum of games played in a single season to roughly 21 games. This maximum is just one more game than your typical NFL season if you make it all the way to the Super Bowl.

Know looking at it from a players point of view, The more games played in a season greatly increases the chance of being injured. If you know anything about Draft Value, Injuries sure do decrease it. Now does this all peachy when it comes to just having something like this to the BCS era of having a maximum amount of games equaling 14? No, it doesn’t

I think that the College Football Playoffs is going to keep on expanding beyond the field of 4 with people like Jerry Jones approving of it since it goes along with him wanting to expand the NFL playoffs from 12 teams to 16 teams (which I personally have mixed feelings about it). This is because the fact that some will hate the fact that 2 out of 4 or even more teams are from the SEC. I mean, Everybody sure did love that BCS Championship game back in 2012 with both teams being from the SEC?

In all, I think that we are going to see the flaws of the College Football Playoffs system over the next few years. I also think that we’ll have a system back in state like the BCS in just a few years with an NIT like playoff system as a consolation prize for those “Beat Up on Babies” Undefeated teams.

The Southeastern Conference is still and always gonna be “The Big Conference” in football since you can’t deny that football is our thing down here in the south. Besides, We might even see Tennessee win it all in the first season of the CFPs since they did have the honor of being the First BCS Champions after all. ~ DaAuraWolf ¬†

Why Future Fire Emblems Should be Like Awakening.

If you’d ever got a chance to experience the fullness of Fire Emblem Awakening, You’d have notice that game features a very unique way of letting you write your own story through the game. The biggest way with this is the Support System featured in the game.

The Support System in the game lets you buddy up with fellow unit members, have them buddy up with each other, or technically have them “Marry” other unit members (of the opposite gender, of course). If you play even further on the game past Chapter 13, You’ll begin to find out about the Future Children that some unit members (mostly the Female Units such as Sumia along with myUnit if male and Chrom) have. This ties into the main plot of the game.

Personally, I’m a fan of this system. It truly gives the player the pen to write their own story. Because of this, I found myself coming back time and time again to play Fire Emblem Awakening since each time I’d S-rank different unit members up with each other just to see how different it is.

I’d also like the fact that you could make your own playable character in this game and have it all set up the with strengths/weaknesses. I know this was a feature of the previous entry, but the game before Awakening was a Japanese exclusive. That is the same case with the Support system too since it was featured in a previous entry that is Japan exclusive.

If you look at Awakening’s original predicament, This was originally going to be the last game in the series. Awakening itself was the saving grace of the series. With this being the case, I think that future installments should have the same basic structure as Awakening. I mean, The series would be killed like the Fell Dragon Grima if it goes back to the blandness that was going to kill it.

I know the upcoming game in the series is going to be the Shin Megami Tensei crossover, but I still think that having Awakening’s formula is the new Fire Emblem. I mean, The Shin Megami Tensei crossover is going to have some of Shin Megami Tensei’s elements; but, I would like to see Awakening’s Formula become the new “norm” for Fire Emblem’s Formula.

If Awakening’s Formula becomes Fire Emblem’s Formula, Then the series would continue to experience the same revenue like what Awakening brought in. As for a fan of Awakening, I’d like to play future installments of the series and not see it turn a series like EA’s NASCAR series.

With this being said, I rest my case on this matter. ~ DaAuraWolf

Reasons why we’ll be getting Ruby/Sapphire remakes this year for 3DS

As some of you might have known, The Pok√®mon series has turned into one of those annual release types of series like your Call of Duties and Assassin’s Creeds , for mainly Western Audiences, with each year since the American release of Pok√®mon Platinum having a new release in the series. This seems more likely to expand to Eastern Audiences with the Worldwide release of X/Y back last year.

The year is 2014 and many of you are wondering what outing we’ll be having in the ever growing World of Pok√®mon. With many signs pointing either at sequels for X/Y or remakes of Ruby/Sapphire remakes, I’m here to tell my case why we’ll be seeing a Ruby/Sapphire remake come this year. And with that, I begin.

If you have noticed in the past when it comes to remakes in the Pokèmon series, GameFreak likes to start dropping hints as soon as they are ready to. Take for example the hints to HeartGold and SoulSilver beginning with Emerald; Some examples are as follows:

– You get a pick of the Johto Starters in Emerald
РMany Johto Pokèmon were able to be caught in Emerald (including Ho-oh and Lugia via event)
– The Night/Day cycle returned in Diamond/Pearl
– Eevee received two new Eeveelutions in Gen IV (something that Gen II had too)

As know for Ruby/Sapphire, You have some examples with the following:

– Steven Stone gives you a pick of the Hoenn Starters in HGSS
– Weather Trio is catchable in HGSS
– The Legendary Golems were catchable in B2W2
– In XY, A painting in Lumiose Art Museum (specificly art from the TCG) was of Mr. Briney and Peeko
– Also in XY, There’s an NPC make a specific reverence to Lavaridge Town as referring to the town’s Pok√®mon Center that has a “Hot Springs”

There are more like this beginning sometime as soon as Diamond/Pearl but not having as much effect as hinting to remakes as soon as HGSS. But the big key point on why I think they’re coming this year isn’t as deep as what we see on the surface.

My key point on why I think they are coming this year all deals with the details found in XY’s coding.

If you have noticed, There’s data in XY for a Mega Latios and Mega Latias (two of Hoenn’s Legendary Pok√®mon). Megalutions are going to be the key to the plot of this year’s Pok√®mon film “Cocoon of Destruction”. Now why does this seem relevant to the RS remakes? Well, Let’s now take an even deeper look than that.

Usually in February, The Monthly Japanese Children’s Magazine, CoroCoro, reveals the key Pok√®mon of the summer’s film. This year we got a potential of either having Diance (a mythical Pok√®mon) or the Mega Lati@s. Now if you take a look at what the film is going to be about, You’d probably cut out Diance and say they are going to be the Mega Lati@s; but, they can actually “Have your cake and eat it too” if the point with the Legendary Beasts in movie 13.

Taking a Movie 13 side of to the Mega Lati@s, We’re more than likely have a Latias and a Latios distribution to go along with the Movie via pre-order movie tickets for Japan and some retail outlet like GameStop here in the states. So… you may wonder what this has to do with a tie in to RS remakes; well, Let me explain on this.

Usually in these situations, Event Pok√®mon like Shaymin and Regigigas for Movie 11; Pichu and Arceus for Movie 12; Celebii and the Legendary Beasts for Movie 13; and more recently with Keldeo for Movie 15, they’d have a specific tie-in with the upcoming games. With both facts that you would that the Lati@s would have to tie into something with Southern Island and that Latianite/Lationite (this is what their Mega Stones are probably called) can’t be obtained in XY, this would have to point to Ruby/Sapphire remakes.

Then again, You can also say Blaziken’s Mega Stone isn’t obtainable except through events either.

Let me point out this, Why are they heavily pointing towards Hoenn with the little nods here and there ? Like I’ve said previously, They do this with other remakes in the past. And with the Mega
Lati@s and potential future Megalutions this gen with other Hoenn Pok√®mon such as Sceptile and Swampert (final forms of the Hoenn Starters that doesn’t have a Mega yet), Why would GameFreak pass up the opportunity to make a lot of money from remakes that many fans as myself would say “Shut Up and Take My Money” to?

With all those reasons, I think that in the next few months ,more likely next month, GameFreak and Nintendo would reveal MagmaRuby/AquaSapphire for the Nintendo 3DS and have it for a Worldwide release in the fall.

And with that, I rest my case on that. ~ DaAuraWolf
